In AAWAA’s legacy of bringing visibility and recognition to Asian American women in the arts, we’ve highlighted and exhibited artwork from countless artists of various disciplines: visual art, poetry, film, performance and more. From Flo Oy Wong and Betty Kano to Bernice Bing, Lenore Chinn, Nancy Hom, Cynthia Tom and so many more, we are cultivating icons. Exhibitions featuring inspired themes, from Eating Cultures to Portraits of Power, have also showcased a growing, intergenerational list of contemporary artists that continuously redefine and expand the notions of what Asian American women artists can be, create, achieve and contribute to the art world and society at large.

Celebrate 35 years of collective histories in the making.
