Kimi Taira is the Post-graduate Preventative Conservator for the UCLA Libraries. She previously worked for the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco as an assistant paper conservator. She earned an MS in Art Conservation for paper with a minor in library/archival material from Winterthur/University of Delaware and a BA in Studio Art from Mills College. With the American Institute for Conservation, she served for the Emerging Conservation Professional Network as co-Outreach Officer and contributing member for the Equity and Inclusion Working Group and Committee. In 2017, she began volunteering with AAWAA to take inventory and pack the material for UC Santa Barbara’s California Ethnic Multicultural Archives.
