FEBRUARY 2012

Arts of Pacific Asia Show at Fort Mason

February 3, 4, 5 at Fort Mason, San Francisco Booth 36 A

Representing the Asian American voice, AAWAA is part of the new Pacifc Asian Contemporary Arts Initiative .  There will also be galleries and antique dealers from around the world.

Juror: Inson Choy: recent curatorial assistant for the Asian Arts Museum’s Korean Gallery, selected these diverse art works to showcase a cross section of Asian women artists living on the West Coast of the United States.

What is Asian American Art? Not easily definable. Is it perhaps defined by the deeply personal stories these voices expose? One recurring word did come up repeatedly during our deliberations…courageous. Come compare Asian and Asian American art side by side.
