Statement

In this world it is so easy to let principles and other intangibles slip away in the pursuit of “success.”

It is easy (and advantageous) to dismiss that the cow you are wearing
used to breathe
and blink
just like you

To forget all the hard work
of the people who came before you

To allow you the luxury of being warm in the winter
the ability to travel great distances
the right to vote.

The sacrifices made for everyday conveniences effortlessly fall by the wayside.

Creating is a means to remind myself there is more to life than
sitting in a cubicle for forty hours a week
breathing ventilated air
and working for the man.

Through the creation of art I must look around me and be reminded to appreciate what i have. By remembering the details that keep the world revolving, I gain new appreciation for the food I eat
the clothes I wear
and the people I love.
