My work is inspired by community life. I like to depict various emotional states--tenderness, anguish, joy, etc. I favor the single image in my work--to have one figure, one gesture be the symbol for universal truths. I want most of all for my art to make a difference--to individuals and to society, whether it brightens someone's existence, helps fundraise for a good cause, calls attention to a social issue, or brings hope to mankind in general. I want it to be known that I do beautiful images that cut right to the core of an emotion, and that I give these images to the world to make it a better place.
